Really good news, too.
Next fall Bantam is going to re-release Into the Wilderness in trade paperback format (rather than mass market). There will be new cover art along the lines of the Queen of Swords dust jacket. I’m going to find out if I can add anything to the author’s notes, which I would dearly love to do.
I’m also going to say right up front that the artist shouldn’t go overboard with the cleavage. I hope they listen to me on this. There are only two things that I don’t like about the Queen of Swords cover: the cleavage, and the fact that the artist seemed to forget that the character he was portraying is Mohawk and not European in appearance. The skin color and bone structure were more Elizabeth than Hannah, but it was supposed to be Hannah.
When I have the cover art, you can be sure I’ll share it.
This is as good a place as any to answer all the questions I’ve been getting about book six. There is a lot of gnashing of teeth and general unhappiness about the idea that this will be the last book in the series. You want me to rethink that.
I’ll state again for the record: it’s not up to me, it’s up to you. If book six doesn’t sell well, there is no way Bantam is going to offer me any more contracts. Which means y’all need to step up and buy a copy when it comes out. Sales alone will make the difference.
Also, let me be clear: I will not necessarily continue along with the Bonner family as I have to this point. I may take one of them and jump way forward. What I will not do is a prequel. Don’t yell. I just cannot do a prequel. None of the characters are willing to participate, and that’s that.
Good news indeed. I’ll pre-order that book too.
How fantastic is that?! When are they doing the re-release? Are they doing it in Australia? If so is the Aust version going to be in Trade PB as well?
So many questions…but very exciting for you! As for the possibility of a Book 7 — well I’d love to see more if it is possible even if it does mean a jump in time……ooooh imagine the genealogy possibilities! (I know you know what I mean! *LOL*)
Those darned characters who won’t cooperate! That’s great news about the rerelease, and I can assure you that I will be buying a copy of Book 6!
Rosina, That’s wonderful news about the re-release of the books in trade paperback. You can definitely be sure I’ll be buying a copy of book 6! A book 7 would be wonderful, too. Just image the possibilities!
Congrats! I’ll be buying book 6 and should you write one book 7. I will buy all your fiction books, that’s not a problem. I’m not really interested in a prequel so I don’t care that the characters won’t cooperate, the reason being I don’t want to know what Elizabeth and Nathaniel were like before they met each other. Congrats Again!
Sounds great. Book 6 to the rescue.
Good luck.
Great news, my edition is thrashed, and new artwork too! Hopefully they’ll rerelease the rest of the series in trade too, my DOADS and FATS are in rough shape as well. They look kinda shabby beside hardcover LITC and QOS.
Hi there, I hope there will be a book 7… I tell everyone to buy your series because it’s amazing, and I’ll continue to do so! I’m actually buying Into the Wilderness for my friend for Christmas… I want her to get into it as well… I was curious, do you know when the release date for Book 6th?? I’m a little behind with what’s going on with the series etc… I hope it will be out soon… I have been waiting patiently! :) Anyways, good luck with everything… I hope your books sell to keep the series going!!
Take care,
Tiffany Downie
*click* Having a delayed reaction, s’cuse. Yeah, making Hanna euro-looking kinda bugged me too!
Other then that I liked the cover (the cleavage thing can be forgiven*koff*).
